WELCOME  to St. Mary’s Church, Hellesdon.

St Mary’s is the most traditional looking of the three Hellesdon churches.

We have a beautiful 14th century building but a brand new Community Room which looks  14th century on the outside.

Over the last 12 months we have been  working hard to welcome as wide a section of our community as we can into St Mary’s now that we have the facilities to keep them safe and make them comfortable.

Our mission is to be

“Active and Visible in the Community”

Our Community Room was officially opened by Bishop Graham in March 2012. The room is attached to the North Wall of St Mary’s and is faced in Norfolk flint to harmonise with the main church building.

The main meeting room can be set up for a variety of uses from a cup of tea and a sandwich to formal meetings or lectures and the upper room provides for quiet space away from the busyness below.

Ideal for Church away days, talks, meetings or social gatherings the Community Room is available for hire. Please contact the Parish Administrator for details.

Music is an important part of our worship; we have an organ (and a brilliant organist), a choir and an enthusiastic singing congregation.

We use Common Worship as the basis for most Services with a Book of Common Prayer Communion every month and a range of other Services running throughout the year.

Whatever our architecture, our music or the words we use, we hope that at St. Mary’s you will feel God’s love for you as soon as you step over the threshold.

With two meeting rooms, a kitchen and disabled access and facilities, the Community Room is a centre for social gatherings both for the Church congregation and the wider Hellesdon Community.
